The Death of the Norm
The market does not reward the best. It rewards the most visible.
The market is a graveyard of the average.
But here is what nobody tells you: it is also a graveyard of the excellent.
I have watched brilliant founders, people with real expertise, real results, real value, disappear into the noise. Not because they lacked substance. Because they lacked a signal.
They followed the playbook. They hired the marketing agency. They posted the “valuable content.” And none of it worked. Because it all sounded like everyone else.
They were following the Norm. And the Norm is a slow-motion death for a brand.
The Mask Problem
Most marketing is a mask.
It is a collection of borrowed frameworks that force founders to hide their edges. We are told to be “professional” when we should be dangerous. We are told to add more “content” when we should be building a philosophy.
The result? A sea of sameness. Founders with real ideas sound like everyone else. Expertise buried under “best practices.” Voices flattened into templates.
I have been complicit in this. I spent years optimizing funnels, polishing copy, and making the machine run smoother. And then I watched a $50k launch collapse under the weight of its own artificiality.
The pipes burst. The noise was deafening. And in that wreckage, I had an epiphany.
The problem was never the pipes. The problem was that there was nothing worth saying flowing through them.
The Diamond Standard
“Pressure can burst a pipe or make a diamond.”
I am done fixing pipes. I am here to make diamonds.
Michelangelo did not “build” the David. He chipped away everything that was not the David. He saw the figure trapped inside the marble and removed what did not belong.
That is the work.
Your voice is already inside you. Your philosophy is already formed. It is buried under years of “best practices,” safe positioning, and the fear of saying something that might alienate someone.
My job is to chip away everything that is not you. Until what remains is a signal so clear your market cannot ignore it.
What Normatory Is
This publication is not a newsletter. It is a laboratory.
A laboratory for founders who have built something real but remain invisible. A space where we strip away the noise until only the signal remains. A place to alchemize your expertise into authority, your scars into pillars, your silence into Narrative Sovereignty.
If you are looking for hacks, secrets, or the latest growth trick, you will not find them here.
But if you are a founder who is tired of being your industry’s best-kept secret, welcome.
The laboratory is open.
I work with a small number of founders each quarter.
If you are ready to build a voice that commands your market, reply to this email. We will find out if we are the right fit.
